If you close your eyes and think of Terry, an iconic image comes to mind, fixed on the retina of the collective consciousness. It is not only an important part of our history, but also of the history of Spanish advertising.
It was back in 1964 when the first alcoholic spirit advertisement appeared on television. Galloping through the Doñana nature reserve, bareback on a magnificent dapple grey horse, and wearing a sheer blouse, was the beautiful Magrit Kocsis. She was working with the creative director Leopoldo Pomés (Tiempo / BBDO), and had no idea then that she was about to star in one of Spain’s most iconic TV commercials of all time.
We are talking of another era, very different to the present day, not only politically, but socially too, and Terry broke all the rules. People still remember the ad to this day, and very few brands have achieved a campaign with such impact, recalled and immortalised more than 50 years later.
Here are a few other examples of Terry’s visual legacy.
